Default insulation fell off

Put my 2021 F150 Single Cab short bed on the lift for an oil change. Did a visual check underneath and found a 10" by 18" silver insulation pad laying on top the exhaust. Looks like it was glued to the underside of the bed where the pipes go over the axle. Don't think it's really necessary as the pipes are a few inches away and I changed from single to dual outlet muffler. Don't understand why they would use such a low quality glue .

Pennies. Saving pennies. Penny here, penny there, as many trucks as they sell, it adds up.

This is a recall item, you can have Ford fix it free. They now use rivets.

Because there's a recall on this, you're probably gonna want to have the driveshaft inspected for damage.

The recall was specific to XLT with 302a, supercrews. The OP has an XL Supercab. So that recall, unless its been extended to more models, wont apply. But its certainly something to have fixed under warranty. Wonder if the new improved recall method is the same solution.

Post or PM me your VIN. I can check for any recalls that you may have on your truck.

I have single cab. Laying on exhaust. not close to drive shaft.
They now use rivets. Don't think I would want rivet holes drilled into the bed of the truck. Believe the extended cab and super cab the insulation was actually under the cab - but could be wromg

Did have the recalls done on the trailer braking issue. Haven't received a notice on insulation or wiper arms if they even apply to my vehicle
