I did it!
Well about an hour ago I pulled the pin and ordered a '21 3.5 eco XLT 302a Sport/FX4 screw 6.5' bed with the 18" wheels Carbonized Gray
Now the wait begins!
This will replace my '12 XLT 3.5 eco screw 6.5' bed with chrome package in oxford white.

My order should be going in today as well! I feel like putting together a list of the slimy dealers that said Ford wasn't accepting any more 2021 orders but there are enough other slimy tactics that already stand out so not worth my time. Talk about milking the situation though.
I'm blessed to have found a good dealer near me. Still doesn't communicate perfectly with enough information about the process otherwise I wouldn't be on this forum, but at least they were straight shooters for the negotiations and everyone at the dealership were pretty awesome.
However, the closest dealership to me was super slimey. They played the "sales manager behind glass game" and it felt like a reworked 4-square. The guy was also like 70 years old and I felt like I was buying a car from the 1960s with the techniques he was using. If you don't like your dealership, expand your bubble until you do.
The process should go like this:
1. Hi, I'm looking at buying a Truck and I've done my research. This is what I want "....".
2. Ok sir, lets take it for a spin
3. Great, I loved the truck. Let's talk numbers
4. Here's a number: MSRP - 8%
5. That looks close, how about this: MSRP -13%
6. Nope, sorry, that's under invoice for this truck. However, let me see if we can do MSRP - 11%
7. Ok, that looks fair, lets order.
If its anything much further from this process outlined above, they are playing games. Now, I understand you're probably not going to get MSRP - 11% or anything near that during this shortage. But pre-shortage, or post-shortage, this is how my last truck purchases went with the dealers that were straight shooters.

I'm very fortunate that our small town dealer is awesome to deal with, both sales and service side. I have bought 12 vehicles from them in the past 19 years. I walked in and said I want a truck like this and was told ordering will be about the only way to go to get what I want. I get X-plan through my work, and they gave me a price on my truck and off we went with the order today.
They don't even have a truck on the lot. I haven't even driven a '21 yet.

My dealer said they were allocated to order 2 trucks a couple days ago, and hoping since mine is one of them that they should both show up in a decent amount of time. They have had zero trucks on the lot for a couple weeks now.

I'm excited for you
