Default HORRIBLE transmission shuddering powerboost

Anyone else experiencing horrible shuddering when the transmission is cold? I've been able to determine its only when it's cold.

It literally feels like the transmission is about to fall out of the truck. It's especially bad of you ease into the throttle and not trigger the transmission to shift.

If anyone has ever had a fiesta or focus think that type of shudder.

Once its completely warm the shutter goes away. I originally thought maybe the 9th and 10th gear overdrive are to blame but it has shudder from 5th all the way to 10th gear.

Anyone else experiencing something similar? The truck is absolutely beautiful but when the heart starts having problems before 2,500 miles its concerning.

Common issue, it’s been present since the 10-speed launch...we can’t figure out a way to fix this and it’s super easy to reproduce - if you live in a part of country where weather goes below 30F.

^if you took your truck to the dealer and told them what is going on, this is likely the response you would get

Please ignore hellb0y, as was described to me and proven countless times, he is a troll that claims to work for Ford, but when I gave them simple questions to prove they do, they stopped responding. The 10 speed shuddering IS NOT a common problem. My truck has zero transmission issues, and the 10 speed in the PB has largely different mechanical components and other parts in the mix. Take it to the dealer, it's not common, you shouldn't have a noticeable shudder, and don't listen to hellb0y who was banned on other Ford forums.

Coming from a 2019 to the 2021 I actually found the transmission a lot smoother. The 2019 when cold would struggle with the 3-4 shift until warm. Now in the 2021 I've not noticed it and it's been cold here in Alberta. Op, I'd suggest talking to the dealer and make sure there isn't anything else going on.

I just picked up my F150 Powerboost in 20° weather with it snowing to boot. Put about 100 miles on it today. The transmission shifts like butter. Both city and interstate travels.

I have this shudder as well on 3.5L Powerboost with 800 miles on it. I've been seeing some cold temps in New Orleans, but also in 50s it does it from slow starts and I feel like more pronounced when turning/accelerating. I'll pay attention to the gear I'm in next time.

Because of what I've read about these transmissions, I'll let the trans warm op to 90 degrees when it's cold outside before taking off. Having no problems wit it.

Interesting...with the addition of the electric motor in front of the torque converter, there's an additional point of failure we haven't seen before. And there's a clutch between that and the flywheel, which is an additional suspect for a shudder while shifting.

Very curious to see what your dealer figures out.

I've a 2018 F150 3.5L powerboost/10 speed transmission - and I live in Michigan. I've noticed this 'clunk' or 'shudder' as you described on occasion when we were dipping in the low teens/single digits - but only when I'm pulling out of my subdivision (so when the transmission may be colder). It doesn't persist once things get warmed up.
