High Mount Stoplight Connection Under Hood doesn't work
2022 KR PB
I went to connect the high mount stop light on my cap, and was told that the Ford Orange/Wh wire for it was tucked into a harness underneath the airbox under the hood.
I found the wire with no trouble, but when I made the connection to my high mount stop light, I found that brake light power doesn't go down that orange/wh wire when the brakes are pressed.
My question to you folks is: "Is there a fuse or something that has to be inserted to provide power to the orange/wh wire when the brake is pressed? If so, do you know where it is, so that I can insert a fuse?
If that isn't the problem, does anyone know what it is?
I took the truck into the place where I bought the cap, and they said that they've had the same trouble with other 2022's, and suggested I might try the dealer. They also said that if I found out what needed to be done, please let them know.
Getting usable answers from the local dealer has been problematic on other issues. I've learned more here than I ever did from that dealer.
Thanks a lot for any assistance.
