Default Help! Software Updates Screen Stuck In Spin Mode

Been checking for any software updates over the past week or so only to get the screen pic below. I’ve waited 5 - 10 minutes and it never returns the update status. Background: truck is a 2024, new in Jan. It sat for a few months unused and went into battery saver mode even though I had a trickle charger hooked up correctly (so BMS sensor could see the charge, but that’s a different issue). My Ford app now shows that automatic updates is turned off, which I didn’t do. Probably turned off by the BMS system??

Is there anything to get past the system update checking screen so I can turn auto updates back on? Posting my VIN below in case rugedraw sees this.

VIN: 1FTFW3L85RFB92053

Thanks for any help

She's locked up. Mine did the same thing.
You need to discount the negative battery terminal for about 15-20 minutes. Once you plug it back in it'll reset and start working again.

Fantastic, I’ll try it, but will that cause me to loose my other settings - cell phone linkage, etc.? Thought I was going to have to take it to the dealer.

Thanks for the tip. I'll keep it in mind for next time - did the battery negative disconnect for about 30 minutes and it worked. Fixed my Software Update status and it looks like I didn't lose any personal settings.

No, you won't lose your settings. I would leave it disconnected a minimum of 20 minutes.

That won't work in this case. That will only reboot the APIM. This requires a hard reset of the GWM.

APIM is the accessory protocol interface module, or the module that controls your touchscreen and main Sync software. The GWM (also known as the ECG) is the gateway module and is responsible for facilitating communication between all modules on the network.

I’m guessing you have a powerboost? Hybrid
If you do, I know exactly why it didn’t work. You have 2 12V batteries. One underneath the hood and the other one is underneath the passenger side rear seat.
So if you have a powerboost, you need to disconnect both of those batteries. And that should fix your problem.
Don’t worry, I did the same thing I had no idea there was a second battery underneath the rear passenger seat. It’s in a black box that you need to pry the lid off of.

If you don’t have a power boost, then I’m afraid I have no idea why it didn’t work for you.
