Question Help with Alpine PWE -S8 install

Hello,
I have a 2021 F-150 Lariat with the BO base system
I'd like to swap the factory sub with this Alpine sub, I bought on Ebay.

Is the device in the image a amplifier? Can I get power from the harness?

Is this an amplifier?

There only appears to be a couple of wires connecting this sub

Would like to replace this subwoofer

Here is the Alpine harness I have

Alpine Harness

Anyone have a walkthrough I can follow?

Thanks in advance
Steve

As one who has an Alpine PWE-S8 and tried it in several applications, trust me, as bad as you may think the OE B&O subwoofer is, you will get no benefit from figuring out how to install that Alpine unit.

IF you were starting with an OE system that had no subwoofer at all you might find benefit, but that's not your situation.

One person's experienced opinion for your consideration.

Yes, that’s an amplifier. Subwoofers typically only need 2-4 wires depending on impedance and voice coil configuration. That alpine harness as pictured has a fuse on the thicker red wire. That implies this harness may be intended to run a dedicated power feed from the battery. Consult your installation manual to verify. The factory harness isn’t rated for much.
