Default APIM issues

Hello, i have a 2021 f150, and was one of the lucky ones that had a failed APIM, because of another issue, and not the OTA issue. Which i never get OTA's btw, and i have everything on, wifi, and cellular, and have a schedule set. took it i to ford yesterday, 7/12/22, so they could install the APIM that was ordered back in april. Prior to taking it in, it was updated to 22087_PRODUCT, and i could select multiple days for updates to install, and i went through and updated all modules, except the dreaded IPC module, manually using FDRS. After new APIM install, it is at 21146_PRODUCT, which i think is OTA 1.7.1, and i can only select one day a week for updates, and i am still waiting to see if i get updates, since i only got one OTA since the truck was new. Looking at history in FDRS, a pmi was done on new module, and it was unsuccessful several times due to some binary bit file, so then the tech did a APIM configuration, and that went through fine, and submitted the RVC code after. Now after the new one was installed, it put an older version of software on it, and there is no new update according to fdrs, so how did it install an older version, and will this have an issue with OTA's? By the looks of it, looks like i am back to square one, so at this point with an older version installed, and no update available, what can be done?

I really don't want to go back to the dealer, since everytime i go there, my truck sits for two days, untouched, and i have to take off work, because they won't offer a rental.

With FDRS can't you force reprogram a module even without it showing an update? I thought it showed whatever version the system has that you last received, so it may not be aware that you went backwards? Could be wrong, haven't personally used FDRS.

I don't believe though that it will impact your OTA since the truck sends a manifest of its current version level, but you would just have to wait who knows how long to find out.

do remember reading somewhere, that you can do a force update with FDRS, but i am not sure how, maybe some FDRS experts can chime in on how.

Hello! Send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your local Ford dealer. I’d be happy to see what I can do to assist with this APIM concern. Thanks!

You may have to wait for Monday. Most techs don't work on weekends and they'll need to be at the dealer to check FDRS for anything.

I might just take it back, messing around with the settings, i noticed it no longer keeps my update schedule set, every time the ignition is turned off, the schedule clears itself, and i can only set one day a week, and not multiple day, like it was before the replacement.
