My son and I flew in Friday night and arrived just after 9 am Sat morning at Granger motors just outside of Des Moines. Chip had the truck and finance guy all set to go so we could head south quickly. Chip (white shirt) got my FordPass set up and phone connected while I spent about 10 minutes with finance and then a 15 min tutorial on the truck by Chip closed it out. We were on our way in just over 30 minutes.
I just can’t say enough about how incredible the process with Granger and Chip went. No BS, plenty of communication and just good, honest folks.
The truck performed impressively on the trip back to Dallas. And great memories with my son for Father’s Day weekend.
Thanks for the debrief! I'm following you next week, and now I know what Chip looks like when he picks me up at the hotel. The whole 'Granger Purchase' choice has been a test of sorts for me: never special ordered before, never owned a Ford before, never owned a half-ton truck before, and never had to drive 1400 miles to get our new vehicle back home. But OTOH I've heard people echo your comments from all over the country who purchased from Granger, and they appear to enjoy a quality reputation. Personally, I think the traditional 'dealer' business model is both dysfunctional and also s-l-o-w-l-y dissolving as new business models succeed in their place. It wasn't my sole motivation but one reason I purchased from Granger was Zack's decision to buck the tradition he was raised with (he's succeeded his father in managing Granger Ford) and seek a better experience for his people and his customers. As I said above, this experience will 'test' the notion of us buying a Mach E from Granger next year. Would I go to the two local Ford dealers in my area, who think they are entitled to jam up the MSRP with additional 'desert treatment' claptrap? No thank you.
