From what I understand the LEDs will be optional on lower levels and standard on upper trims. Optional on upper trims will be Adaptive Front Lighting where the headlights turn in corners and are self leveling.

I don't understand what you mean optional on lower trims, that is not correct.

It only depends on the package as said earlier in the thread -- if you build a truck with 302A or higher it will have some form of LED headlights (reflector or projector, depending on the trim). It is not an individual option.

Since 302A is an option package it's optional. If it was standard then you wouldn't need to buy an option package to get it. It's not that complicated.

Saw one of those Ford engineer interviews and the guy said they had improved headlights across the board---meaning even a base XL Did they use a better stock bulb in the regular headlights?

The new change could be anything. Redesigned reflector, better bulb selection, higher output bulb, all of the above...
