My ‘21 F150 Platinum was recently in an accident and I had it repaired. They did a good job except my headlight pattern is very different and I’m trying to figure out whether this is normal with a new/different headlight type or if it needs aligned. Unfortunately, collision shop not being very helpful.
In the first picture below you’ll see a distinct “cone” or “heart” shape with the dark spot in between the two sides. However, because it’s on the left side, I wonder if they installed a different type of headlight that is supposed to help with not blinding oncoming traffic. However, for those I’ve not seen this “heart” shape… it’s more of a straight line.
Then I pulled the truck down the middle of the driveway. Note the arrows that appear, to me, to be a horizontal misalignment. But I’m not very well versed at this stuff so need some help. What I do know is the new pattern is really annoying compared to my original before the accident.
For those more in the know, does this look like misalignment or is this perhaps the way new headlights are supposed to work?
Not sure how the beam alignment looked before but if those are the top trim lights from a 502a or above that’s exactly how they should look. You will see that dip in the oncoming traffic lane fill at times when your auto headlights are engaged depending on traffic conditions. I would say the repair place did a pretty good job.

Thanks for the reply. Quick follow-up… so the pic of the lights on the garage door. The fact that they look off, in this particular type of light, that’s likely how they’re supposed to look?
In a word - yes.
I would just be checking now they have been replaced that the auto high beam and anti glare (if you have it enabled - US models didn’t have it enabled but some enabled through forscan) are working.

I had that exact problem with my 2021. View was exactly the same. Could never get it right.
