Question Hands Free Tracking

Is there some way to adjust the bias so the truck tracks in the middle of a lane? ours currently tracks a foot or more to the passenger side. It feels like the driver's seat is centered in the lane, not the truck.
Thanks

There is not

There are some press releases regarding the next update will give bias to the opposing side when passing cars. But there is no setting you can adjust to make it bias to any one side.

I had a driving structure during driver-ed training tell one of the kids that had a hard time staying centered to line up his foot with the 'dirty strip on the road'. Weird things you never forget.

Next time you drive, pay attention to the dirty strip to know if you really are sitting over the middle or if it just feels like it based on the width of the vehicle. No need to guess.

I've been driving a truck most of my life. I just got a car and for some reason I find myself bouncing the wheels off the lane reflectors (paint stripe). I struggle to get in the middle, maybe I'm putting myself in the lane where it feels natural which in turn keeps me too far to the left (since the car is way more narrow than a truck).

With my F-150, about 95% of my driving is in the far-right lane and I give bias to the right side of the lane unless there's a car parked on the side. It's a little annoying when the lane keeping feature keeps trying to push me to the middle. Now, I keep it off.

My BC hands-free tracking is terrible. Same situation that it prefers the far right side of the lane to a point where it is maybe 4-6" from the line. I can't use it in any traffic whatsoever for fear that I will side swipe someone. I would get a lot of horns blown at me. I also tends to wander when it isn't hugging the right lane line, and when it gets weaving back and forth has even over corrected and get the flashing red warning to take over because it crosses the right line.

I had it back to the dealer for the IPMA realignment (twice) but still no resolution. Going to have to take it in again soon to see if they can figure something out.

Hi there. This blue cruise concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your F-150. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.

My dealer won't even perform the IPMA because when they took it out for a test drive they "couldn't replicate the issue".

Ya, I am going to take mine in and take my service advisor out to see what it is doing. It is pretty repeatable so hopefully they can figure it out. Drove from Dallas to Austin last week and couldn't hardly use it due to the wandering.

There was another gent on the Software Updates thread that had the same wandering issue and I think they had to replace his APIM to fix it, but don't quote me on that.

Mine does the same and it seems like maybe the next update will help.

FWIW though, i use my BC a lot, and around here, there is always construction so jersey barriers are up and lanes feel tighter than normal. And even when it feels like Im too close to the other cars in the other lanes, i always take a peek over and theres plenty of room. Only time i might gently guide it over to the other side of the lane is with 18 wheelers, especially when they start drifting over in their lane.

I used mine as much as feasible on a road trip this weekend. Need to pull some of the dash cam footage to show how bad mine is. It put my tires on the line (and even crossed it so bad on a straightaway that it did the alarm and resume control - a dangerous occurrence) so many times I lost count. And it was usually to the right, so absolutely terrible if I'm not in the slow lane.
