I put my grill gaurd on yesterday. Ranch Hand. I was wondering if any body has any bright ideas (ya I know dangerous question) On the lower half of the front edge of the uprights it's just bare 1/4 inch steel ( it's painted) I'm trying to find some thing split maybe with adhesive in it to put on it, rubber or heavy plastic maybe give it a more finished look and more importantly give my knee some thing softer to ricochet off of. Any thoughts? Thanks Jim
Can you post a pic? The patrol Tahoe's around here have thick plastic covers that slip on the uprights around here. They all have grill guards but I'm not sure what brand they are. I'll see if I can get a pic or find out the brand and the part numbers of those plastic covers.
Well I guess I wasn't holding my mouth right cause I didn't find any of that. The flat piece that amazon shows will be perfect for the top half but for some reason they now stop the flat strap about half way down and you just have the edge of 1/4 steel .Looking for something split that can slide on that that doesn't look like too much of an after thought. Thank you
That is exactly what I just ordered, and the ranch hand trim for the top. After you prodded me in the right direction I found it easy. Kind of wonder why they changed the wide strap, I put the same gaurd on a 17 expedition and it was full length, just looks a little unfinished. The rest of the fit and finish is good though. Thanks Jim
Contact them. Maybe they didn’t ship it with all the bits
I did send them an email about trim and how stout is the bottom tube, It's lined up perfectly with the tow hooks. Looks easy to mangle with a chain if you really used them for a hard pull. I do have a tree saver that I think I can loop around the tube and through the tow hook, hopefully I'll never need it Haven't heard back from ranch hand and got impatient!
