Default Granger trade value

Has anyone traded in their old truck with Granger? If so did they give you a fair trade value? Just curious as my new truck is being built this week and I am trying to decide on whether to trade it in or not.

Ask them for an offer on your trade…

Much of this may depend on your local sales Tax environment.

As here in Wisconsin you pay the FULL amount of State and Local taxes at the time of sale. Higher the bottom line # the higher the tax bill.

Generally 5.5% sales tax here in Wisconsin. 50,000 X 5.5% = $2,750 Taxes due VS $50,000 - $25,000 trade value X 5.5% = $1,375.00 taxes due.

When you sell the trade out right and use that cash to purchase the new vehicle there is no discount, you repay taxes again on that same money that has already been taxed when the 1rst vehicle was purchased.

Your call.

Check Carmax. I've noticed their offers are much higher. Then at worse case, use that offer to leverage trade in.
Examples, wife 2019 Enclave, dealer "offer" was like 30K, Carmax was $35,600.

Well, if Granger is selling all their vehicles at 3% below invoice and also selling warranties at cost, they're going to have to make their money somewhere. lol

Easy enough to check Granger retail prices on the vehicles on the lot. Check their pricing vs whatever.

alright..my one and only warning here. Unless it has to do with the OPs question do not post it. I will not tolerate people getting into arguments here over silly things that have nothing to do with the OPs original question. If I see it again, further disciplinary action will be taken

The way I bought my car was by firing off an e-mail to the dealer.. $10k off and a certain amount for my trade-in. Once agreed, I'll walk in, sign the papers, get out, no BS. That was before the chip shortage, of course.

Go to Carmax, Carvana, and KBB. They all offer auto-buying service. Get their prices and then ask Granger.

I just picked up my 2022 Platinum F150 from Granger that I ordered back in November. I wasn't planning to trade my 2018 Platinum F150 with them, as I felt I could do better selling it myself, even keeping in mind the sales tax difference. But when I did the math and asked Granger what they would give me on trade, I was blown away. I'm not going to provide the actual numbers here out of respect for their ability to make money on my trade-in, but here's what I will tell you. The KBB and Edmunds trade-in values were thousands below what Granger offered me. Not only that, Granger gave me considerably more than Vroom, which was the highest of the several car-buying sites. And quite honestly, Granger's offer was really close to what I figured I could sell the truck for myself, so given the tax advantage of trading, it was a complete no-brainer. Just to clarify, I'm not a Granger shill, just a very satisfied customer that would highly recommend this dealership. As for Ford, not so much. Ford the company did nothing whatsoever to make me the least bit happy during this seven-month ordeal to get a new truck. Their pathetic supply-chain management is NOT my problem. I am their customer, NOT Wall Street. Ford's constant lies, misinformation, and disinformation during this entire process did nothing but irritate me to the extreme. I am as unhappy with Ford as I am happy with Granger. All that said, the new truck is pretty awesome and this is coming from a guy whose previous truck was the best he had ever driven.
