Default FOX 2.0 Leveling

I have been planning on having the front end leveled on my 2022 Platinum. Stopped by the dealer today and asked for a quote to have it installed. I had planned on buying a FOX 2.0 kit and having them install. They pushed just putting in spacers instead. Either way they want $1,200.00 plus material. Doesn't that seem high? I am going to replace my Hankook Dynapro AT2 with Falken WildPeak AT3's. Maybe just doing the tires for now.

Yes American dollars, Bethlehem Pennsylvania! They said 5 hours labor and the alignment, plus something else that needed to be reprogrammed. Anyone know a good shop in this area? Besides a nameless Ford dealer.

I work for a European repair shop in Wayne, PA 19087. On the weekends when I'm not at work, I install Fox 2.0 kits for $400 and that includes as many ride height adjustments as it takes for you to be happy with the stance of your truck. The only caveat is that I can't offer a full alignment at my house and I would have to refer you to a shop for that last step. The whole installation process normally takes 3-4 hours.

If your truck has the optional Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD) suspension, I completely understand why the dealership wouldn't want to remove it and why they would push you towards spacers instead. If you don't have the CCD suspension, a Fox 2.0 kit is a great option.

There are a few different Fox 2.0 kits that can be used on our trucks, if you have any questions about which Fox 2.0 kit would work best for yours, just let me know.

Saleen,
I guess installing the spacers should take about the same time, right? Not using the truck for off road so maybe the FOX 2.0 is overkill. What spacers would you suggest for 2"?

Installing spacers can take a little bit longer as it normally requires unbolting the lower control arms, but it is very similar to installing replacement coilovers from a labor standpoint. The ReadyLift 66-2120 2" spacer kit is a great choice because it includes a camber/caster adjustment kit that makes aligning your truck much easier, this would be my preferred option for spacers.

If you are completely happy with the factory ride of your truck and just want to lift the front a little, a 2" spacer is probably your best option. If you are looking to improve the ride quality of your truck for towing, rough roads, or spirited driving; something like a Fox 2.0 kit or Bilstein 5100 upgrade would be a better option.

I paid a guy $1000 to install them and he didn't even adjust the front shocks like I asked (I didn't want a level).

For a very heavy truck like a Platinum SuperCrew or a truck with the Max Tow or HDPP, the 2015-2020 Ford Performance kit works great. For a lighter truck like an XL or XLT SuperCab without a towing package, the 2021+ Fox 2.0 kit will do a much better job of matching the factory spring rates.

Shop around.
Your dealership shouldn't be your preferred option for suspension work.
Do you have a reputable front end alignment shop around? They probably do coilover replacement in their sleep, and 10x more than the dealership would ever change coilovers.
They don't break, therefore Ford has no reason to change them, until customer shocks wear out and the owner figured Ford is the only capable shop to do the work.

There are other coilover systems on the market too. Fox is good but more than needed for a daily. Many do use the Fox but others are more than adequate.
