thank you for that! The rake really is terrible! What brand shackles were they because that’s what I’m looking for! Also, what wheel / tire size is that on?

Still has pretty much the same amount of rake as factory (I didn't measure to confirm). No decrease in ride comfort that I notice.

Tips I would have wanted to know in advance (2wd application in my case, YMMV): Pull the lower most rear shackle bolt out first and then jack the rear end up until the leaf spring bottoms out on the bed bottom and you can get the upper shackle bolt easy peasey. On the front pull the bottom of the strut out of the lower control arm first before taking the 3 upper nuts off the top mount. The strut will come out much easier that way. Also make sure you orient the top mount the same once you swap the spring out so the bolt holes line back up.

I just picked this kit up and contemplating installing it. I know most of it is pretty straight forward, but can you tell me what this piece is for?

Still considering just using a 2wd shocks instead of the kit and upgrading the shocks to fox 2.0's. With there was more info out there. Seems like most people either do a flip kit or lift.

I did the 2wd struts, with belltech 6426 shackle kit on my 2020. I didn't have any driveline vibrations but did measure the angles and put in a 2.5° shim even though I could have used a 2° one. The 2.5 was readily available so I put it in. The 2wd struts dropped the front of mine about 1.5" (5.0) and the shackle and block removal was about 2.7" and ended up with a 1.75" rake in the end which was the look I wanted. I also installed 2wd bump stops.

I'm planning to get the maxtrac 2/4 kit with the drop knuckles for my 2022 because I have 4" of rake to start with vs 2.75" the 2020 had.

Yea i have a 23 with the Ford Performance shackles and refinished expedition 22's on a 305 tire. I didnt want to notch the bed so didnt do the maxtrac or anything. Just trying to get as low as i can while taking out some of the rake without flipping and without killing the ride quality. The spring rate on the springs in the FP kit is higher than the stock spring. So im not sure if its better idea to upgrade strut quality and go with 2wd struts/stock spring, install the stiffer lowering spring on the stock strut, upgrade the strut quality AND install the stiffer spring or run the fox IFP coilover from the 2wd? Going to go with the Fox on the rear, and if i upgrade the fronts, same. I had BIlstein 5100/6112 on my previous Taco, and ride quality was amazing. However it really bugs me that bilstein uses that crappy zinc plating that rusts within a year especially if youre anywhere with salt on the road.

The struts if they're aftermarket/factory replacements, not the Bilstein will drop you around 1.4-1.6". The 2wd Bilstein will be less around 1" from what I can remember from a 2015-2020 lowering thread. The FP / Groundforce coil springs say 1.3" front drop.

All of the numbers are relatively close but it all comes down to the stance you're looking for and your budget. The struts might be a better option if you have higher mileage and are close to the recommended replacement time, but if you have lower mileage there are lowering coil springs available.

New member here and new to lowering trucks in general, so forgive my ignorance, but after reading through this, I have a couple questions.

- If Ridetech sells the adjustable rear kit to lower the rear 3.5" - 5.5", that means you can exclusively lower the rear by that 5.5" w/ no other modification?
- If so, for budget purposes, would it be an option to get this full lowering kit and only used the rear parts to lower the rear the 2.5" and leave the front stock? ( I understand this is seemingly wasteful, but the FP rear drop shackles only lower it 1.5" vs 2.5" in this kit.)

My truck has the ridiculous rake w/ ~4" variance between front and rear wheel gap. I'm happy at (front) stock ride height if I could just get the rear down.
