Default Ford pass issues

Just got a new limited. Downloaded the Fordpass app, added my vehicle, and attempted to activate it. The prompt came up on my truck’s screen and I selected enable sync so I know the truck is connected. But my fordpass app still says activation pending. Then about 10 mins later I get a message in fordpass app that attempted activation failed. Anyone have this issue and know how to fix? Thanks!

Try doing a master reset on the SYNC system and log out of your FordPass account. Totally close the Fordpass app and then restart and login. Then go through the activation sequence again.

When I activated mine it took a day or two for the activation signal to work. It just kept saying it was pending. Did the same on the wife's 2020 Edge. It never used to be that way so I don't know what changed.

If that doesn't work you may need to contact the FordPass help line or let your dealer work it out.

I picked up a new F150 Lariat yesteday, also can't activate Ford Pass. Get activation pending and then a message about an error trying to activate. I contacted Ford Pass and they said they are having system problems and are unable to process new activations and to try back later. Don't bother trying any master resets at this time. Just need to try again periodically.

I think the time FordPass takes to actually activate is more like 24 hours +/-, if after 24 hours And still no activation I’d call your salesman.

No. Bought a Mustang Mach-E Friday, got immediate activation on FordPass. This is a system issue as noted.

There is some kind of TSB on this to do a system update. dealer updated mine and it worked an hour later

SSM49826 is date-limited. There was an additional recall flag to undo their work on that SSM.

The FordPass app seems to be the culprit, or at least all the fancy servers that run the code behind it.

Personally tried: iPhone6, Galaxy S10, LG G6 (wifi only), Google Pixel 3, and a Google Pixel 5.

​​​That said, the app (and service) works mostly fine once it registers. The app has a few bugs that no one seems to arsed about. My favorite glitch is the Hotspot Guide glitch that crashes the app.

Beware and pair your phone first, then activate in the app.

Picked up my new Lariat today. Had the same problem with the same response from Ford Pass.
