Ford Pass
I receive software update information, recall notices, and I can see my service history. I can also see the fuel level in my wife's Expedition, so I know if I am going to need to fill it or not prior to us taking it somewhere before I go to her work place and and trade vehicles with her.

My wife was out of town with her Expedition when I got a perimeter alarm alert about 2:00 in the morning. I immediately texted her and she was already up checking on her car because the alert on her phone woke her up.

For Context, I picked up my 2022 last night and the dealer was overly instant that i had to have ford pass. As a old school guy who is not big on apps I figured there was some nefarious reason they were pushing it. Thank you all for the replies.

Edit to add: I don't think that the above info is a result of the Ford Pass app. That info is already being transmitted to the mother ship via the OTA connection.
Don't know if it's necessarily nefarious or not, but data is absolutely exchanged with the Ford system. For instance, we purchased the extended warranty online from another dealer 11 months after buying the Expedition. On the contract paperwork it listed various things about the vehicle, including a timestamped reading of the odometer (which was slightly different than what I put), fuel level, tpms status, oil life, vehicle health alerts and trouble codes (both lifetime and previous 60 days).
functionality while you are away from the truck: lots of little conveniences. It provides all sorts of data on the vehicle; I particularly like being able to see the pressure at each tire, when the temperature swings in Texas and I’m trying to decide if I need to get out my pump to top anything up.
