Hey all, got a question I wanted to see if anyone else has heard of. I ordered my ‘21 Lariat Sport back on Feb 19th, and have not received a VIN or build date yet. I called my dealer today to ask them if they had seen anything come through, and they told me that Ford had just changed up their entire ordering system and that was causing delays with the system generating VIN’s / build dates. Has anyone else heard of this recently? With the recent plant shift reductions / shutdowns, I would imagine this wouldn’t be a good time for them to overhaul their system, but then again maybe that’s why I don’t make the big bucks. Also, is it normal that I ordered a little over 2 weeks ago and haven’t seen anything yet? Thanks!

 

The ordering system didn't change. The main dealer homepage did, but that doesn't have anything to do with the system that they use to put an order in.

 

Gotcha! My salesman did say he was off over the weekend, so maybe that excuse was his “buy myself a couple extra days to get caught back up” line

 

I ordered on Dec 1,2020, just got a confirmation of the order acceptance by F on March 1. I now have a VIN and a production schedule date, week of April 5th. Just waiting to see if that happens. BTW I do not have a window sticker yet.

 

Check for a window sticker on or around 3/29

I ordered mine Feb 15th and no VIN yet. I'm getting antsy but I guess it just takes a long time.
