Is there a way to disable ford maps? I know people will not like this but I don’t like people above knowing where I am all the time. Tried looking online but I haven’t found anything. Thanks

 

Got a cell phone? "Above" knows where you are all the time.

 

Yes I do but I don’t need Ford knowing where I am because I think they send info to the insurance companies.

 

If you have a cell phone, it constantly pings towers and anyone can find out where you are (and where you have been) if they have the right tools.
Why so worried about Ford? You "think" they send to insurance companies, yet you have no proof? If you are somehow going to areas your insurance company wouldn't insure you at, they would deny a potential claim and Ford would be the least of your worries.

 

I just want to know how to turn off maps. I don’t understand why people always have to comment as to why they can still track you by your phone. Don’t care just want to know if maps can be disconnected.

 

May be something to think about, but why do you think an insurance company would be interested in where you are?

 

Frankly, I would not worry about it. GPS signals are one-way. That's why your navigation still works if you're in the middle of nowhere. Nobody will ever know where you are if you're out there. The map comes out of the software in the truck, not from data.

 

People bitch about chemtrails....yet every IC car on the highway has its own condensate chemtrail that you cannot see except in winter.

Our trucks have a cell based communication system with Ford, for updates and everything else. Find a way to disable that and perhaps you have your solution. Have to ask what else gets disabled at the same time?

 

i’m pretty new to Ford so I’m not sure how to help you regarding your question. But I definitely feel your frustration being lectured and offered advice you didn’t ask for. Hope you find out if you can disable maps. Good luck with that.

 

There’s no need to disable the maps in a way you can’t use it but you can make sure breadcrumbs is turned of and the is a bunch of data sharing options you can turn off in the settings and that should stop any tracking
