Default Ford Map Display Settings

I am still unhappy with the default graphics on the center display map. I would like to meet the Ford designer who thought white (for local roads) and VERY skinny black (for highways) on a light gray background was a good choice. On really cloudy days I can just about make out the black highways. But on bright days and wearing sunglasses, it's hopeless.

Does anyone know how to alter the map graphics?

BTW, the location of this photo was north of Moab, Utah. The line to the right of US 191 is a railroad track.

carplay or android auto. I have never once used sync maps. No need to pay for map subscriptions or any of that other junk.

When you are in the middle of nowhere, nothing much will show. There are multiple options you can enable to add features 2d, 3d, gas, hotels etc but if they don't exist, you wont see them.

Unless you are in an area that has no cell service and you are lost and your phone is now the junk you are referring to. Native NAV in cars and trucks is still your most reliable tech when out in the boonies.

Put the display in night mode. I keep it there all the time. Looks much better day and night to me.

I often use CarPlay but in remote places I lose cell coverage.

My point is about the skinny almost invisible line shown for the highway, not other stuff. And highways are just as invisible (maybe worse) in crowded areas.

Exactly. And during my trip in Utah (working to locate remote sites for geologic field training) the Ford nav worked very well. It's just the map graphics that are poor.

I download the map for offline use. Google maps let's you do that to save data. Not sure about Apple maps
