Ford eavesdropping patent application
Malwarebytes ArticleIn the abstract of the patent application publication Ford writes:
“An example method includes determining vehicle information for a trip, the vehicle information including any one or more of a current vehicle location, a vehicle speed, a drive mode, and/or traffic information, the user information including any one or more of a route prediction, a speed prediction for the trip, and/or a destination, determining user preferences for advertisements from any one or more of audio signals within the vehicle and/or historical user data, selecting a number of the advertisements to present to the user during the trip, and providing the advertisements to the user during the trip through a human-machine interface (HMI) of the vehicle.”
Another controversial Ford patent filed in July described technology that would enable vehicles to monitor the speed of nearby cars, photograph them and send the information to police.

Soon there will be no more accidents. Driving is a privilege, cars will soon talk to each other and accidents and speed etc will all be out of our control! We will enter our destination and off we go!
Don't know about "soon" but you are spot on. I read an interesting article nearly a decade ago about automation-enhanced driving, and if we wanted to get serious we could have cars doing 90mph whizzing by within a few inches of each other.... but our brains wouldn't be able to process the visuals of multiple hurtling objects just-missing each other at such speeds. One suggestion was to completely darken the glass so we couldn't see out, the other idea was to make the glass a type of movie screen or eliminate glass completely.
Great, police state is coming. That is one thing I like about being in California. No speed cameras on our highways. No unmarked police cars pulling people over. Speed traps set up by cities are unusual because they don't get to keep the fines to spend money on new police cruisers.
I hated Henderson, Nevada. The cops had new cars and were eagerly ticketing people. Cops can use speed cameras in unmarked vehicles. That's one hell of a reason to keep the Mexican license plates on my car!
London's enforcement is ridiculous. They even have "Average Speed Check" on their highways, taking pictures of all the cars entering the motorway, then taking pictures of all the cars exiting the motorway. They know which car has been speeding that way.

Not just no, but **** no.
Anything you say can be recorded and used against you in many forms.
If you have Hey Siri or Hey Google enabled on your phone, you should turn it off. You may think its a convenience, but its listening and recording anything it decides is of value.

Lol, true lovers of freedom will find ways to disable these systems. Ford should be ashamed of themselves, frankly. Oh, I get it...the sheeples of the world will welcome this level of control, but free-thinking people will always eschew it.
