If you have the keypad on the driver’s door, press 7-8 and 9-0 at the same time. It locks the doors and deactivates the key if left inside the truck. To unlock the doors and enable the key, enter the Securicode into the keypad. I do this often and it works like a charm.
How does the perimeter alarm system "deactivate" a fob or even a keyed ignition??
Nobody I know has an "actual" keyed ignition... so are you saying the ignition tumbler gets deactivated??
All I can say is with the fob laying in the door if you use the keypad on door to lock the truck as described it disables the "intelligent access " to use the door handle to unlock it. you have to use keypad or another fob to unlock it. I got curious and had wife lock me in the truck with the keypad and she couldn't open door but the truck started right up for me. So if you're locking the key in the truck like this and someone breaks a window to get in, if they decide to try starting it they're off with your truck! This will still work for me because the only time I lock the key in the truck is in my garage, never say never but unlikely anybody getting it here. Jim
If you want a great quality pouch, search for Paraben Corporation. They make the Stronghold faraday pouches and enclosures that we use in law enforcement for protecting evidence.

I forgot that not everyone has keyless ignition. The manual states that passive keys left in the truck are deactivated when left in the truck and 7-8+9-0 is pressed.
All modern keys have anti-theft chips in them. I don’t know if the truck would deactivate the chip in a physical key in the same manner or not.

I don't think it does anything to the fob or key. The truck changes how it reacts in response to different conditions.
I can't verify how good they are, but by shear good reviews everywhere I have the Mission Darkness ones. One that holds keys and the other for a phone, wallet, etc. Police departments use them. They even have one that will fit over an entire truck if you are really paranoid!

I think this is correct. I messed with this some more, with my fob locked in by the 78-90 method the intelligent access won't unlock the door. Unless I have the wifes fob in my hand then it unlocks! I can put both fobs in the door and lock it with the keypad and I'm locked out till I open it with the keypad. I can leave 1 fob in and lock it with the other fob or button on door and it stays locked. As I mentioned before with me and 1 fob locked in by the keypad the truck starts. It seems the keypad 78-90 tells the intelligent access to ignore the fob in the truck. I ordered a Farady pouch from Paraben to make it simpler and I'll report on ow well it works. Jim
