Does anyone know what the state/federal rebates will be?

 

Hydrogen problem is the manufacture of the stuff,, Would be best if made in a solar refraction rather than electric systems.. As many have stated the Grid is the issue ,storage of power is not here yet and the cool kids keep pushing wind and solar without any concern on materials needed , for the operations manufacture or maintenance of systems.. Smoke and mirrors,,,, I posted the issues on coastal wind farms done by a private firm that did not address sadly being on the water for 10 years.. Just ask any Navy of the effects of long term exposure to salt air..lol
As Mr Musk states the ,,,Limiting Factor,,, Batterys and mass storage issues ,, electric systems can not work without massive tax credits..These statements will upset some , but hey they are facts..
I personally would love to go electric . but not until it is efficient and non toxic batterys. will not be kidding my self on the source of the electric grid power { mostly coal } or the amount of hydrocarbons that it take to make batterys solar cells ect,,

 

Hydrogen fuel cells are terrific. But if you are upset about the lack of on the road electric charging, you will really hate hydrogen. 45 refueling stations for all of California,
the other States, even worse.

You know you have problems when you have to sell your vehicles for $20,000 off list.

Lots of bad hearsay info in this thread, here's some good info that will answer a bunch of other questions too.

 

Keep in mind that $7,500 Fed rebate is only good for the first 200k qualifying EV vehicles sold by a manufacturer. Tesla’s don’t qualify anymore, so likely only a few years that Fords will.

where to start.. The grid has not been expanded in decades, over worked to say the least, power distribution is the least of it issues,,also the growth was done mostly from Hydrocarbons and since 2010 many Green states have closed their Nuclear Plants and Hydro plants. Not to mention where are you going to get all the Silver to make the batterys,, Its a pipe dream folks..

 

An this is the UK.. their grid is Ok. They didnt close any Nuclear plants or hydro

 

People are afraid of the government taking away their freedom to choose whether or not they can buy an ICE.

They fear that this is the beginning steps down a path towards irrational "green" mandates that will ultimately substantially increase the cost of living for the average joe whilst hindering his ability to traverse the open road as he pleases. That we will be handcuffed by "the grid" and our ability to come and go as we please will be less reliable and efficient than in years past.

A large portion of the difference in the price of electricity vs gasoline wrt driving amounts to taxes paid at the pump per gallon. It would not surprise me if the electricity used to charge electric vehicles gets a ​​tax placed on it in the near future.

 

Its started in California,, the Taxes paid in registration ,, oh my bad fees went up because they said the electrics are not paying there share of Taxes { Fees } for the roads..
