Truck looks awesome but 40k usd and 68k cnd does not make much sense. Current exchange rate should put the canadian version around 50k unless lower trims wont be offered in canada. Seems like the ev version is about a 25k+ premium over gas model if you compare platinum version (80k vs 110k less goverment rebates). I was willing to pay around 10k more for ev but looks like i will have to stick with the gas version for awhile.

I'm shocked at the affordability. I thought for sure when I first heard they were doing an all electric F150, it would start at $75k at least.
I will say though that 300 miles is disappointing. Perhaps this partly explains the reasonable price. A truck that could do 5-600 miles would probably cost a lot more.
For people who tow with their truck, that range just won't cut it. You'd probably be lucky to get 150 miles on one charge, depending of course on what you're towing. But since many people don't tow at all with their F150, this might be a homerun.

I've been sold on the idea of an EV pickup since Ford came out and said they were pursuing one. I posted a while back a few builds I had in mind for when I order my truck next year, but I scrapped those after the unveiling last night. I ended up reserving a lightning right after it ended.
That doesn't come without concessions -
- I would definitely prefer at least a 6.5' bed.
- Towing will have some unique challenges ahead.
Those are two fairly big deals to me, and yet I still think I'm going for it.
95% of my driving is in the suburbs of Syracuse. On those occasions where we go away for vacations, I see an abundance of charging options along the way to our favorite places to travel.
The more people who welcome the EV technology, the more incentive for charging stations to pop up even more places.

I could imagine someday trailers having their own extra battery pack that would plug back into the rear of the truck to offset the range loss from towing. Travel trailer campsites have 30 amp and 50 amp service to recharge also. Maybe a toolbox type extra battery to help reach the magical 500 mile range.

Until current battery technology evolves, range will always be a factor. All things considered, 230-300 seems like a respectable range that will fit many lifestyles. Certainly not the answer for long range heavy tow customers, or cross country trippers on a tight schedule.
But again, for many of us, that is a feasible, workable range. Will be curious to get the adjusted range with tow specs. As long as I can get >100 miles with a 6k trailer, I'm in!
