Simple. Remove the speed goodies and return truck to stock. Trade in 2wd for 4x4. Reinstall speed goodies on 4x4. Done.

I had looked into this on a previous gen, the front frame sections were different. No mounts for the front diff, and the lower control arm are mounted 1-1.5" lower to allow for clearance... Ive done many frame swaps before because of collisions but it just wasn't worth the time and effort even if I could've got the truck for a really good price. I also couldn't find a regular cab long box 4x4 frame and I didn't want to get a used front section and spend hours cutting and welding it in.

Try to find a wrecked donor to put all your parts into, get a complete 4x4 truck or change up your suspension setup, gearing/posi, tire combo to try and help.

Sell truck, pay the stupid tax. Buy truck in the configuration you think you need this month.

BTW, the 4WD system may not help you get that power down on dry pavement, since it can't handle curves and turns. Its not like a high performance car AWD system.

The electronics challenge you are creating for yourself if you try this is immense. Have you figured out how many modules you are going to have to replace?

You also have to remember that you have an xlt. XLTs don't like be being in 4wd on dry pavement.

Any way you look at it, the cheaper way to convert is put the 2X back to stock, sell it, buy a 4X truck and add the goodies to it.
