Default Extended Warranty question

I bought my truck new (my first new car ever) in 2022. I bought the extended warranty with it, which was Fidelity apparently and not Ford. I didn't know to ask questions whether it was 3rd party or not, I just assumed it would be a manufacturer's extended warranty. Anyway, I keep getting email from Ford Protect to get extended warranty plan after the 3/36 expires. I know that I can cancel and get a partial refund on my Fidelity warranty, it would be prorated. Was wondering if anyone has experience with Fidelity or not, or whether to go with Ford one, or perhaps other ones if you can recommend. I know that the Fidelity warranty is good not only at Ford dealers, but any certified mechanic shops. Thanks in advance.

If you go with the Ford ESP, bought from one of the dealers here on this forum, you will get: Your vehicle repaired with Ford parts, repaired by a Ford trained mechanic and finally repaired with no delay or approval hassle. JMO

If you have a service advisor or warranty person you trust, ask them. I have a couple good friends in the business and was talking to one of them a couple of weeks ago about aftermarket warranties. He definitely can tell me which ones are not worth having and always find a way to not pay.

it appears Fidelity is a shady company and is garbage. definitely canceling it, hopefully the prorated amount I get back will be still decent. My warranty is for 7 years so by my thinking I should get back just over 5 years of prorated money back. I did look up Flood Ford's price and it seems very reasonable for Ford ESP (the most expensive plan even).

Does Ford ESP cover car rentals/loaners just like the factory warranty? I couldn't find that info

As far as extended warranties, I'm told if you get one, only get the manufacturer's warranty. No one else's. I'm considering Granger's deal.

I hope you get your money back.

Personally, I would run and hide from a 3rd party "warranty". Any extended "warranty" I would buy would be the Ford VIP.

In the excitement of buying my truck, I signed up with a third party extended warranty (I didn't know it was one because I was doing this at the dealership) and ended up canceling it a few months down the road. It was rather expensive (>$3000) for like 5yr/75k or something like that. Got almost all my money back.

It's an optional selection ,

If you have LED Head/Tail light, I would opt for the additional coverage also

Just FYI, here's a link to 'the other forum' where I posted my complete Ford PremiumCare ESP contract for your reading / study enjoyment.

Here's a copy of October 2022 Ford ESP Contract for reference | F150gen14 -- 2021+ Ford F-150, Tremor, Raptor Forum (14th Gen) | News, Owners, Community, Discussions

I suggest you contact Granger Ford by phone or email as you shop for best prices, they may have financing or other offers not shown on their website (outstanding folks to do business with, I have no affiliation other than being a very satisfied customer).

Not pushing Granger but Granger is having a Feb special.

Also have a April 22 bought Ford F150 and right now having the same thoughts on purchase now or wait until this time in 2025. Waiting here and this is why.

After purchasing a ESP on a vehicle in 1998 at purchase time only to have that vehicle totaled out by another driver. Then see the extended warranty go bye bye on the flatbed truck am a little hesitant on buying early. Yes it could have been transferred to another NEW vehicle but at the time of the accident it was not the right time to buy a new vehicle it was time to buy what could be afforded with the insurance money.
