experience with bug deflector
I got my 21 used last year and it has one like shown in Dave-P's photo. My truck is carbonized grey and you can hardly see that it is there. I do like the look and I think it helps with the air blowing over the truck by keeping the slush in winter time from hitting the windshield as it melts on the front of the truck. I didn't think it would work as well as it does as it follows the contour of the hood, but it really did.
I put one on the 17 that I owned previously and it helped with one main thing really, the same thing as on my 21, it helps keep so much water and funk from hitting the windshield.

I'm in the same boat now, trying to decide which one to buy + put on.
Not happy with the EGR design, wraps under hood, but you need to remove some of the under hood weather stripping.
The AVS looks sleek, doesn't wrap under the hood, but requires two strips of double sticky tape to hold down flat to hood.
Weather gets HOT here in Az, not sure how long that adhesive will hold.
Any suggestions? looking for the glossy dark smoke, not the matte finish.
Many thanks!

I had one on my hood and removed on my 2023 Avalanche 150. Just didn't like the look. On my color it looked somebody just painted a black strip across the hood. On the darker colors it is not a noticeable. However, everybody to each his own. If you like it keep.
Pnsh3r -
how does that attach to hood? Does it wrap under the front lip, and did the rubber seal under the lip of hood have to be removed/modified?
or - is it taped to the hood surface like the AVS?
looks sharp - I see the Ford part number - did you install, or was it a dealer install?
I may be overthinking this, but having spent 70K + on this new truck, I don't want to screw up on a hood deflector....
Thanks!

Deflector attaches to the hood from underneath. If you open your hood, you will see a rubber seal attached towards the front of it. In the center of the seal a few of the pins that attach it to the hood get replaced with clamps that the hood will attach to. Where clamps attach to the hood clear anti friction strips are provided. There are also rubber spacers provided that sit on top, between the hood and the deflector, to keep it from ever banding back enough to touch the hood. This is why I like buying OEM accessories whenever possible.
I can take pictures if you’re having issues visualizing from my description.

thanks -
ended up with the AVS Aeroskin bug shield.
the main concern I had with the shields that go under the lip of the hood, was the rubber weather stripping under the hood -
didn't want to compromise that.
Maybe I misunderstood the install directions, but I'm satisfied with having the AVS taped onto the hood surface -
cleaning the surface should help the tape last a few years. The window guards my wife has on her Blazer, the tape has lasted over 7 years in the Az heat.
next task - figure out how to log into the Pursuit app - I didn't get a QR code or log in code, waiting on dealer response.
Thank you all!
