Woke up to this… any ideas before I call roadside assistance for my truck in my driveway?

2021 XLT - has adaptive drive, rear cross traffic, etc

Welcome to the club of dead batteries. Have it towed to dealer. There was an update mid2021 that was supposed to cure this but it did not on my truck. Ford is supposed to have another update, been waiting for that one since December.

I read an article/watched a video where one guy theorized that one cause for some people having this dead battery/phantom draw power is misaligned rear doors.

he showed that even though the doors lock, at least on his truck, the slight misalignment resulted in the truck locking, but being unable to fully power down the module for the zone lighting… from the way I understood it, even if the lights weren’t on, the controller was drawing power constantly.

we’ll see what the dealer says. Had it towed to them.

good luck…I’ve had zone lighting turned off since I got the truck. The update I mentioned previously included checking for door alignment.

Just went thru the same thing last month. Had it towed from my garage to dealer. New battery solved it for the time being. Truck had 9k on it and is 10 mo old.

Do not know if this is relevant. But I installed a led light strip on my 2022 XLT, and plugging in the 4 pin plug, disabled the safety features, like cross traffic, blind spot, etc... Had to take it to the Dealer to diagnose.Apparently the electrostatics are very sensitive. Or maybe the truck thinks there is a trailer there, and this screws it up?

Mine did the exact same thing on Friday night. Its at the dealer now. They are currently attributing it to a PCM communication problem possibly related to the battery junction box that houses the PCM relay. They are currently waiting on a response from Ford for next steps. I have seen others post about this problem as well.
