I took my 2021 502a PB to the dealer to have them check out the auto wipers since they didn’t seem to activate automatically. The service writer proceeded to turn the wiper switch on the stalk to ‘on’. I hung my head and showed myself out.
I never drove a truck in snow, only cars when I lived in Germany and New York. When I heard of a huge storm about to dump rain and snow up the Big Bear mountains here in California, I drove up with my brand-new 2012 F-150 XLT 4×4 while my best friend from Tijuana followed me in his Ford Expedition. The massive snowstorm didn't hinder our journey and over a foot of snow fell overnight.
Gosh, I was tickled pink! My truck was covered in snow. Even the back bed was full of snow. I drove back down the mountain and was back in San Juan Capistrano the next day. I hit the brakes after getting off the freeway and it felt like a car hit the back of my truck. I looked at the rearview mirror and saw nothing. The light turned green and I hit the gas only to feel this jarring thud as if I hit something in front of me.
I thought it could be the transmission and I was very upset, it was already a piece of **** after owning it for a week. I drove it straight to the nearby Ford dealership in Capistrano.
The service manager was standing outside while I drove up to him, rolled my window down, and gave him a very strongly worded opinion.
He pointed at the back, towards my bed, so I got out to find out it was compacted snow in the back sliding back and forth that was causing all this.
You would have to forgive me, we don't get much snow where I live. We're finally getting rain.
This was after I became a car guy, so it’s even less excusable…
I once had a 2011 mustang GT that had a low wiper fluid light on. I had just had the oil changed by the dealer and they always topped off the wiper fluid, so I knew it was full. I worked at a car place too as a customer service rep and I asked one of the techs to look at my car for me to see why the light was on. He filled up the wiper fluid and the light turned off.

Your turn.
I didn't understand why there was an auto wiper option in the menu and a bunch of different settings on the stalk
In 2016 I sold a new KR to a customer who was buying his first truck. He was an older gentleman who had just retired and had never owned anything but bare bones vehicles. I spent over an hour with him trying to explain how everything worked. I told him to read the manual before he messed with any settings and also told him he could come back and see me if he had any questions. He came back the next day furious saying that when he went to leave his house that morning nothing worked on the truck, I had sold him a lemon, and that he wanted his money back. I jumped in the driver's seat and went into settings. He had been playing around with everything the night before and had shut off the power running boards, interior lights, walk up lights, remote start, back up camera, ETC. I explained how everything worked again and he left. On the survey from Ford he told them that I sold him a truck with everything disabled and that I just handed him the keys without explaining how anything worked.

i guess im lucky, dont really have any stories like this. its probably because before my current truck my vehicles were 100k miles + and if I wanted something fixed there was no one to take it too. I had to figure it out on my own. I try to do that with my new truck under warranty, probably to my detriment, because i end up spending money that's not needed.

I agree. Its confusing. I don't understand why the stalk has so many settings on it. There should be just a sensitivity range and thats it, Iy seems like Ford just uses the same
stalk regardless if you have auto wipers
I have one. One day...a few months ago, I was making a "spirited pull" on the highway at WOT and when I let go of the gas, the truck kept accelerating. I almost panicked but I jabbed the gas pedal about 2-4x and it finally stopped accelerating. Didn't think much of it but was slightly concerned. The following day, on my way to work, again, I went WOT and the throttle stuck open. I had to aggressively depress the brake pedal to prevent it from going any faster. I had to turn the truck off, all this time while hard on the brakes to prevent it from accelerating. It's also during this time I discovered that our trucks have a safety feature where it cuts/reduces power when the gas is wide open and the brake pedal has been aggressively depressed. Anyway, I find the closest spot to pull over and I decide, this truck needs to go to the dealership ASAP so they can figure this crap out. I attempted to start the truck and immediately, it revved up to the rev limiter so I shut it off immediately. As, I was busy trying to arrange a tow truck ( I obviously couldn't drive it to the dealer) I got out of the truck (I don't remember why) but as I was getting back in it, something caught my eye. The gas pedal was matted! My heavy duty liner (floor mat) was preventing the pedal from springing back to its rest position. I never felt so stupid in my life! Glad I didn't tow it to the dealership for them to discover that!

I had a 90 Mustang GT that actually did have throttle stick open and that thing scared the **** out of me the first time it happened. Eventually I learned to put it in neutral and shut it off.
Another embarrassing one for me, from just a couple of weeks ago. I upgraded my 22 Lariat steering wheel to have a heated wheel. I swapped out the SCCM and fired it up and the left hand steering wheel controls didn't work. So I pulled the SCCM and reached out to the ebay seller and requested a refund. They asked me if I remembered to update the FORScan programming, which I did not. So I reinstalled the SCCM and updated the programming and it works exactly as intended.
