Default Driving Modes

Anyway to find out exactly what each driving mode tweaks?

I've heard that they mostly change the shift points for the transmission but, I would sure love to know exactly what they do too. In the few weeks I've had my truck I've been driving mostly in ECO.

Agree - shift range and throttle sensitivity. The only other thing I’ve noticed is in sport mode as soon as you take your foot off the brake pedal the engine kicks in (Powerboost). Power seems to be the same ultimately from all modes.

it would be nice if they could offer some sort of “custom” mode, but the stock modes mostly provide all that I need in reality.

Along with shift points and throttle tip-in, it also changes the parameters of the traction control and engages 4A (if equipped).

Slippery mode engages 4H in my truck. I don't have 4A (XLT). Sport mode disables auto stop start.

I just skimmed thru that. Seems to cover them pretty well.

Based only on my experience, I would say shift points, turbo response, and throttle response. The turbo performance is likely just relative to the throttle response differences. I am probably in Sport 90% of the time, just because it makes the truck more fun to drive. I will occasionally drop it to an 8-speed as well.

I think it changes the shift points and as someone stated above in slippery mode mine goes in 4H. I have a STX with the 5.0 and I’m kind of pleasantly surprised that it has the drive modes and Rear E-locker. This is absolutely the most capable, best performing truck I have ever owned. I have had it through snow and mud and it has done great! And with the E locker I feel like It can go through anything I will encounter

Quite a bit, it seems.

Throttle position (physical) vs requested torque (or whatever that relationship is called), shift points up and down, skip shifts vs not, boost usage, traction control settings, 4 wheel drive settings, converter locking

I'm sure the computer has tables and what not that we don't know exist that get changed

Thanks for all the responses.

21Leadfoot: What is the "Rear E-locker"?

TeamLombo: How do you drop it to an 8-speed?

I would love to see this tabulated in a table so I could better compare the modes.
