Default Door Paint Defect?

Was cleaning the truck the other day and decided to have a look under the window seals from the inside of the truck.

Each door has this area where paint is missing and a couple doors had some paint flaking or bubbling.

Is this something I need to have addressed? It is behind the window seals so I don't care from an aesthetic standpoint but I'm thinking more rust down the road...

I'm guessing this might be normal being that all 4 doors had this. Where they hang the door as it goes through the paint process? Still, the missing paint and flaking seems a bit odd. Admittedly I've never looked for such a paint thing on any other car in my life so I have no idea if this is normal or not.

should not be like that, stop by the dealer and they should be able to get it fixed under warranty

Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your F-150 concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.

It’s aluminum… rust won’t be a problem. Reporting it to the dealer is best just in case it gets worse for some reason.

Agreed. Since they are in non visible spots I would show it to the dealer but absolutely would not let them do anything more than putting on some touch up paint. I've had nothing but trouble with dealer paint repairs and this is not limited to Fords.

There will be no rust. Personally I would leave it. Or touch it up yourself. If you bring it in. They will either simply touch it up. Or if there's a warranty claim they will take apart the upper part of your door to paint it properly. Damage under seals like that is super common. Not every vehicle, but it does happen.

In my opinion the loss of your truck for a day, to get a repair that will net you the same result as a touch up done yourself, isn't worth it to me.

Appreciate the input. I will at least mention to dealer next time. Good advice.

If you want to put something on it use some ACF50 or Corban 35.
