Dash brightness at night
I've a 2023 XL. Am I the only one who thinks the dash lights are too bright at night?
Not the screen above the radio or the info screen in the center of the dash. I can dim those a bit with the dimmer button. I'm talking the Speedo and the Tach gauges.
I'm to the point of cutting up a piece of window tint and when driving at night, lay it over the top of the dash. I just thought to ask if there was a better way...

I read the posts. So I crawled thru the snow to my garage. Hopped into the pickup and dimmed the dash lights using the buttons. The dash dimmed. The info screen in between the speedo and tach dimmed a lot as well as the screen above the radio. The speedo and tach barely so.
OK I'm getting older and I wear glasses. At night when I drive a lot of light comes off the dash and it bother me. Dimming the dash doesn't help.
I stopped at Walmart and picked up some Insta-cling window film 20%. Using some parchment paper I pushed it onto the lens of my dash to get a rough shape. I cut this shape out, applied it again to refine the shape. I cut out this shape using the cling film. This I applied to the dash lens and it fit like a glove. I don't use the film during the day. I roll it up and put it in a small tube for later.
The dash brightness doesn't bother me on short trips or in town so I don't apply it until I'm making a long night trip. Driving back from Minnesota Sunday night, I wiped the lens off and applied the cut window film. Worked great!
