Default Creaking Steering Wheel - Is this normal?

I noticed that when turning the steering wheel on my F150 Lightning and making big turns when it’s quiet, there is a slight creak.

Everything is very smooth and there is no resistance. Can anyone else check theirs? Any idea what this could be?

This is a brand new vehicle with 500 miles on it. How are you certain the box spring needs to be replaced? Everything on the steering wheel is working fine.

I don't know for a fact its the clockspring but parts can and will fail prematurely at times. Nothing is perfect.

My 2018 was same only around 2000km had to be replaced, may not affect anything but it is bad. Dealer will know right away.

My 24 Powerboost with 8k miles is dead silent.
You have an issue, I would get that looked at sooner vs later.

Did you ever take video of what it sounded like? Was anything else broken? Or was it simply noisy?

Did the noise ever come back?

Thanks for sharing. I’m wondering if I can hear mine because it’s pretty silent in the Lightning.

I did not video but it was my second F150 from new that had this same noise so I knew the second time. There should be many videos if you look online, suck as this
