I didn’t mean for that post to come across as snarky as it reads, sorry.

Yes, if the system determines a crash is imminent (with whatever it sees or thinks it sees with its sensor), it may activate automatic emergency braking if it thinks it needs to. That’s great if one is distracted or something happens so fast you can’t react (e.g. deer running in front of you) and a real crash is thus avoided or lessened. But it can be dangerous when it brakes during a true non-event that it sensed as an imminent crash (e.g. tall grass in its field of view as you are going around a turn).

It doesn't just apply the brakes it SLAMS on the brakes when it detects something in front or behind you when going slow.

It might APPLY the brakes when going faster, have yet to have that happen.

There are two situations which I repeat often and on some of them I get the brakes applied quickly and abruptly. It has happen the most when:
Leaving work and I am driving down the lane between rows of parallel parked cars. I am doing 5-10mph and as I get to the end of the row of cars, there is a guard rail on the right side and as I am turning left to exit the parking lot, I assume BLIS senses something and hits the brakes! It scares the crap out of me as there is no traffic and I can clearly see no one is around. It doesn't do it every time, about 10% it seems. I am prepared now, but it is unnerving. I cannot adjust the distance between cars in the parking lot! I have about 1-2 feet on each side as I drive down and out.

Second time is when I am reversing at home, as I back up and I am pulling out, sometimes I guess I get to close to "it's" liking and it will do the brake stab. I now back up and make sure I have a couple of feet and go slowly till my nose passes the car in front of me.

Honestly, for me, BLIS has been less helpful than designed. It will set off on guard rails as I am driving down the highway sometimes. I like everything else about the truck more, so I can work with these short comings.

I just wish there was a quick way to turn it off when driving off road. Going thru the menu each time is a pain.

I need to experiment with different drive modes to see if that helps. At least that would be easier to change quickly.
