Well, I didnt call anyone a nun. I said its like watching nuns argue/fight.
Which can be interpreted as extremely boring or annoying.

And for what its worth, the nuns are probably arguing about whos church has better stained glass, my Jesus is better than your Jesus.....etc.

When the B-2 was being developed, there was a minimum age for security clearance. The youngest were still boomers. The most advanced weapon in the world took subsequent generations 30 years to even contemplate topping it, and still can't figure out how to outclass the pre-boomer design of the B-52.
Germansheperd doesn't care. He's right, you're wrong. And his Cobra never lost to a GM small block. Likely because the ones he ran weren't aware they were racing.

I realize belts can be found on engines with thousands of horsepower, and that they have been used successfully in many applications. As others have stated, they can also fail on a car with less than 100,000 miles, taking out the the valves, pistions, and trashing the motor. Engine belts are not all the same composition and size, nor are they made by the same manufacturer. Time WILL tell how good the design is on the 5.0 oil pump, just not my 5.0. Like others, if I'd had to take one, I would get the farthest extension of warranty I could.

You guys worry too much! You can make a case for just about any part to either last of fail. If you sit there and go through the parts breakdown of any vehicle I’m sure you will find something you don’t like. 😂 I try not to think too far down the road nowadays. Just roll with it and deal with the problems if and when they come up. No one knows only time will tell and 15 years from now you might be saying damn I missed out on owning one of those awesome belt driven oil pump coyotes who knows. Buy what you like take enough warranty to get it paid off or close to it and live life.

My intention was to supercharge my new truck, immediately voiding the warranty, which doesn't scare me. I agree I may be overthinking. But other issues arose for me personally. The lack of tuners for the '21, a different intake manifold, the aforementioned new cylinder deactivation, and no familiarity in the 5.0l aftermarket community in general.
FCA supercharges hemi's AND covers them under warranty. Nuff said.

And the flip side to that thought process is it's prudent to wait at least a short amount of time (maybe a couple of years) before purchasing a vehicle with some type of major "new" engine technology for that manufacturer. If you don't mind being an early adopter guinea pig, go for it.

You can get a Whipple supercharger on your 5.0 and retain your Ford warranty.
