Connectivity Issue
Hey guys, I just picked up my new 2023 F-150 and for whatever reason I cannot seem to get the Fordpass App to connect to my truck. I also tried to toggle the Connectivity Settings in my truck and it won't toggle. I also then clicked on the Auto Update option and that won't let me toggle it either. Any ideas would be great, went to the dealer and they really weren't sure either. I am guessing that not many guys have 2023 trucks at the moment.
Who knows, might be a crappy dealer. When I picked up my truck, the dealer had a "specialist" come out, set me up with FordPass, spent about 20 minutes going through everything, making sure it was connected, etc.
And then he spent 1/2 an hour going through the settings in the truck, how to change different things, how to connect my phone, connect to Android Auto, etc.
THAT is what every dealer needs to do with a new purchase so buyers aren't left hanging, unsure of all the new technologies these trucks now have.

Can you clarify what you mean by FordPass can't connect? Do you get the "Activate" button after you add the truck using the VIN?
Can't be much help unless you describe the actual issue. When I got my 2021, I could add the truck by the VIN but never got an "Activate" button to send the FordPass request. After a couple weeks Ford found that a selection of F-150s were sent with the wrong TCU software. I had other issues also, I couldn't use Wireless CarPlay (Wireless AA won't work either) but cable connected will. Also couldn't activate the Hotspot.
If those symptoms sound like yours, it may be the same issue. The dealer will have to reprogram the TCU. If you do get the activate button but never see the prompt in the truck, you may be in an area of bad AT&T cell coverage, try driving the truck around a bit. If none of the above works, I believe there is a "FordPass Reset" in the head unit settings near where you can do Master Reset.

I lost my Alexa assistant after the initial trial period. Called AT&T and got the truck reconnected to cell towers. But the trust was still having connectivity issues. Log out log back in to Alexa. Nothing. Then I decided to disconnect the battery for 45 seconds and reconnect and bam. It was fixed. Kinda like resetting your modem at home. I have had no issues for the past 3 weeks since doing this.
Hope this might fox the ford pass app for you.

I have recently had mine into the dealership for WIFI / Bluetooth random disconnects and reconnects (or not reconnecting as random as the disconnects.).
The SatNav options were all greyed out even though I had paid for their use and they had been activated in Ford Pass until May 2023.
The dealership updated all the software, firmware, bloatware and new pay for streaming options, but to no avail. It still random disconnects, no SatNav even though the icons show the onboard modem connecting to the cell towers. The Ford Pass Remote start and lock / unlock works fine though. The Tech guy said he would send an email explaining thei ssues to HQ and get back to me.
Its very frustrating. Still no word from the Tech.
I think the last straw will be to replace some physical hardware in the truck under warranty.

I have the same issue with my 2023 F150 . Actually, this is the third time, since I purchased it on 1/12/23. Very frustrating. When traveling on overnight trips, I like having information from my app. It's also nice to be able to start my vehicle to warm it up on cold days. And if my vehicle was stolen, there would be no way to track it from the app.
The company line from customer service is:
There is a connectivity issue with the F150 and the Bronco.
The engineers are working on it and will have an update soon.
I would suggest, they at least give their customers an update.

This is a known issue with 2023 F150's. Ford knows about it and will be sending a fix via OTA. The dealership cannot help you as the update is not in FDRS for them to install it.
You can try disconnecting the TCU and leave it unplugged overnight. Once you plug it back, there is a good chance it will work......but it will be a temporary fix. Eventually, it will loss connectivity again.
