Car covers
Any of you guys use car covers? I'd like to eventually put in a car port on account of weather and mostly huge oak tree that drops acorns from my neighbors tree onto my driveway and vehicles. I've already got some more pressing home projects to do this year so it may not be an option. Ideally I'd just need the cover to keep scratches and dents from the acorns wouldn't need it year round. My concern is just scratches from putting it on and off the truck every day or every few days in the fall. 2023 f150 5.0
if you are dealing with those massive oak trees you definitely want something with a bit of padding because those acorns can actually leave some nasty little dings on an aluminum hood if they drop from high enough a multi-layer cover like the ones from covercraft or sealskin is usually the best bet for an f-150 because they have that soft inner lining that won't haze your paint but enough thickness on the outer layers to absorb the impact as long as you make sure the truck is relatively clean before you slide it on you shouldn't have to worry about the daily on and off causing scratches
it’s funny how we both ended up in the same boat with tree debris because my buddy had a nightmare situation with his bimmer under a walnut tree last fall he spent forever searching for a good bmw 330ci cover that could handle being taken off every morning for his commute and he finally found a custom fit one that didn't flap around in the wind which is usually what causes the most friction damage he just keeps a california duster in the bed of his truck to quickly wipe off the surface grit before covering it and his clear coat still looks absolutely flawless even with the daily routine
