Canceled
Now I expect to read an article about how Ford has trained a bunch of feral cats to prowl their giant parking lots.
Mine's a Space White Lariat, ordered late March. Still no VIN or confirmed delivery date. Lease on my current vehicle ends in September and I'll be without a vehicle if I don't have the truck by then. Not sure what to do here as I'm pretty sure the '22s will be more expensive and the wait might be just as long.
im not sure how ford installs chips in trucks built and parked outside. do they walk around the parking lot and install chips in trucks in the parking lot?
.
Unless you special order all your vehicles, it is highly likely that it has been sitting outside for weeks, or months before you take possession, even in normal times. Think about those giant Texas dealerships, you think they don't have a few that sit for months at a time?
If someone wishes to cancel their order, that's fine but there is no guarantee the '22 F150, or RAM or Silverado they may purchase, instead, hasn't sat idle for weeks or months out in the sun and weather.

That is my original point. Someone who special orders a vehicle expects to get a NEW vehicle...not one that has been sitting on a lot somewhere for months waiting on parts. Buying dealer stock is another thing...you should expect it to have been possibly sitting on a lot and being test driven by potential buyers.
I don't blame anyone who cancels an order after months of sitting out in the sun in a parking lot. I wouldn't want that truck either.
It's sad that Ford hasn't already offered significant discounts to those in this situation.
Some people argue the fact that vehicles sit outside all the time. But I keep my vehicles in the garage all the time when it's not being driven. And I don't want my new truck sitting out for months before I even take possession of it.
