Default Cameras in the winter

So I live in PA where we can have mild winters or some pretty bad ones. This is one of the major reasons I own 4wd vehicles. This is the most technical vehicle I have owned to this point, and I’m quickly getting tired of it.

I had a coolant line rub through because it was routed improperly according to the dealer. The little infotainment gremlins, such as my EQ always changing back to default and MyView resetting whenever it felt like. And tonight I get to add another one to the list….

So my question to those who have had optioned out F-150s before, is this going to be a common occurrence? It was only raining today and it popped up 3 times on my way home and then 2 times on the way to visit my mom. It’s been one thing after another and to be quite honest I’m considering getting rid of this vehicle all together at this point. All the notices and alarms is like a nagging wife.

I had a 2015 and 2017 XLT, neither had any problems with the tech.

my 2021 Lariat has had a laundry list of issues. It seems like the QA going to crap is part of the new normal and building back better.

Rain should not affect that for sure!! If you would have said its snowing then that would be pretty normal after a build up

I was dropping my daughter off at school today and it came on 3 times while waiting over the course of 10 minutes! It’s definitely annoying. I called the dealer and asked if there was any quick things I can do before bringing it in for service and they said they would have to see it.

We did have snow earlier in the week and we are expected to get an ice storm today at some point. After calling the dealer I took some Rain x to the cameras and parking sensors all the way around. It didn’t come back on during the 15 min drive I took afterwards. Maybe it was a sensor? I had previously wiped the camera in the front so I don’t think that did anything. Gonna do some running in a few so I should know shortly if it’s an issue.

Thank you for that! I wonder if they’ll do that during my service appointment…. I was gonna wait for it, but if it’s going to be almost 3 hours I may just drop it off! Hopefully they can remedy it. I love this truck most of the time, but in the last month I’ve had those issues listed above and it’s getting very frustrating.

I'm in PA too, and it might also be due to salt buildup.

Mine pops up and tells me something similar sometimes. When it gets warm out I wash it. When it gets cold again after that I have trouble for a few days. Then it fixes itself somehow. I think it's getting water into something somewhere but, I haven't figure out where yet. I've only had the truck for a few months.

Is there something I may have missed when I cleaned the cameras and parking sensors off earlier? I got the grille camera as well as the one on the windshield. I wiped all exterior cameras off with rain x and used a wet rag on the parking sensors. Is there a radar piece that I’m missing?

I am not 100% sure but I think there is a radar part behind the bumper cover. My 2019 Raptor would get goofy when I went off roading in the winter and snow got built up on the front bumper. When I went back on the roads all of those warnings would pop up. I would clean the snow and ice off the bumper and top center of windshield and be good to go.
