I know that this is an F150 forum, but not as many resources for the f250 side. I am in the middle of doing a tailgate electronics swap as this needs to be done for changing over to push button start and wireless keys due to extra antenna. My old tailgate electric lock with manual handle. The new setup is from a higher trim model with electronic release, led light, and a different camera connection. (mine currently is the black connector with red lock in picture)
The truck has 3 capped off connections in the back that all the new tailgate harnesses connect to along with the two larger connectors the old tailgate runs to.
My confusion comes in on the lvdt style cable that the new camera uses, my truck has the connection (circled) in the picture.
IPMA is not a 360 cam one, but has two populated inputs on the 4 pin coax connection at the bottom (brown), I know one is for the windshield camera, but do not know if the second one corresponds to the capped connection in the back,
I unplugged this connection and my old tailgate still displays the camera so i know it's using a traditional pin/wired connection into the IPMA.
If someone can solve the Camera wire mystery it's that last piece of the puzzle for me. I'm hoping it's just a simple forscan change.
I'm not finding anything useful. The way the info is organized in PTS is kinda chaotic and difficult to navigate through.
What is it that is not working that you are trying to fix?
I am doing a swap right now to use the wireless keys and push button start ( that part had nothing to do with the question though)
Currently my back up camera is using regular wires into the black connector with red tab shown in picture. The new harness which includes the whole handle assembly, camera, and added LED, and pats rear antenna that I am putting in off a 24 250 lariat. The camera connection is my only head scratcher as it uses this coax cable connection capped off in the picture as opposed to the wired connection in the old gate.
If it does not make sense a lot easier to explain if u wanted to jump on a call for 2 mins please PM me. The help is much appreciated

It's most likely a different camera altogether with a different p/n. I don't mind getting on a call, but I don't think I can help you determine if that's the case. The access I have to PTS is limited and I cannot access the parts catalog. Someone in the parts department of a Ford dealer would need to look up the part numbers of the cameras on both vehicle to see if they match. If they do match, you are still in the same boat, but if they differ, then you know what you need to do. Is your truck also a 2024, or are you putting 2024 parts in an older model year?
