Default Cabin temperature control issue, plz help

2022 F150 XLT V8 engine, 8k miles....I've noticed during the winter when I turn the temperature dial to "Low" setting the air comes out some what cool/cold blowing on my face....then I turn it 1 click clockwise to 60° then it substantially increases the heat to very warm. So much so after a few minutes I have to turn it 1 click back to "low" because it gets too warm. I repeat this up/down sequence over and over again.

It almost feels like I'm not getting the "fine tuning" of temperature? Any one else experience this? Thank you, in advance, to all that reply.

Very common, and it’s ridiculous. Some don’t have any issues, many do. I’m in the latter group unfortunately, my adjustment window is from LO to 62. Anything over that is blazing hot. Try using the AUTO feature, it helped me somewhat. I set it at 68 (which I could never do manually) and let it do its thing and it’s better I think. Of course I implemented this change as it was warming up, so I’ll have to wait till next winter to see how it does when it’s really cold.

There's a thread here about HVAC control inconsistency. Many of us have experienced it.

My 13 does something similar, yes I know this is a newer model thread. In winter if you want just the cool outside ambient temp, say 50 degrees, you dont get it because the system does something to warm the air. Ridiculous what Ford is doing to these AC systems all in the name of fuel economy, IMO.

I had very few issues with my 2013 auto climate control and zero issues with my '22. I enjoy the adjustable "intensity" of the auto feature in the new truck. Its not so in-your-face when getting to the set temperature. Though ive only had the '22 for about two weeks, the system has dealt with a wide range of outside temperatures that I feel allow me to speak to this topic. Its worked awesome for me so far, but I only use "auto", because I am the set-and-forget type. I leave it at 66/67 and haven't felt the need to adjust anything its doing.

My wife is one of them, but I will never understand the non-use of "auto" when you have an automatic climate control, and then complain about the result of trying to operate it manually. Just set it to auto and let it do its job, its really that easy.

I think the complaint with non-auto is the lack of adjustability. My ‘13 FX4 was spot on. 72 degrees was my go-to in the winter, very comfortable. When it was really cold, maybe 75 or so. It had options, adjustability, turn it to 68 on a bit warmer day…this ‘22 it’s bitter cold (LO), lukewarm (60), hot (61-62), blazing hot (63+). That’s it.

Yes I have AUTO as well, but it leaves a lot to be desired in my truck. Oftentimes of a cooler morning, my AC turns on in AUTO mode when I start the truck and stays on for miles. I don’t want it on, so I’m tempted to revert back to manual mode which doesn’t work worth a crap. So I’m stuck with AUTO which kinda works, or a very narrow manual adjustability that’s never exactly where you want it. I know they can do better because they have in the past.

When you pay $65k+ for a truck all options should be expected to work/be engineered properly manual or automatic. I take it in Monday for no Air conditioning now along with 2 recalls ...I think I have a right to complain.

I took my 2022 F150 in for no ac condition along with 2 recalls. They gave me a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport as a loaner. I can confirm that there are zero cabin control issues with that vehicle confirming that the 150 has issues. Putting the Bronco on low temp setting, cool/cold air comes through the vents. One click clockwise raising the temp to 60° it gets ever so slightly warmer....not "hot" like the 150. With each successive click clockwise it gently increases the warmth 1°.....it worked perfectly.

It's unbelievable to me that a double the price F150 has cabin temp issues, where as this simple, cheaper Bronco Sport does it perfectly as engineered, not to mention the Bronco even has the vent "flow control" ***** to allow you to adjust the flow out of each vent where as the F150 does not!
