If you look at the pictures that does not look like a brand new truck for other reasons besides the rust. it’s dirty under there it appears to me that truck was driven off road. My 2021 has 5000 miles on it and doesn’t look like that underneath even after a couple snow storms with heavily salted roads. So I don’t know what’s up with that truck
im sure this truck has been test driven, but it’s a brand new lot vehicle.
mine had 18 miles on it when I got it, 5 of those were when I test drove it.

To paraphrase Mr. Anders in 'Titanic', "Oh, she'll rust sir, I guarantee it. She's made of iron (steel)."
This has been posted before, last count 1,611 times. Let's just say it is perfectly normal, ALL new vehicles regardless of manufacturer have it, and it is easily fixed if it bothers you by a variety of means...MANY of them very well documented on this forum. SEARCH is your friend.

My 2022 Lariat was built 12/7 - sat in Dearborn till first week of January then shipped to Nashville 01/15 where it sat till 02/08. It looked exactly like the OP's picture when I inspected it this week. My dealer brushed it off and sprayed it for me so it looks like it should now. They tell me the KC built trucks aren't nearly as bad.

Toyotas don’t have this problem, chevys don’t, gmc’s don’t, even ones that are 5-10 years old from up north don’t. But you keep telling yourself this is okay and Ford will continue to press the limits of cutting corners and providing a crappy product if they can claim “it’s only cosmetic”.
What is next, missed paint on the doors with primer straight to clear coat? Then you and Ford will also claim “it’s only cosmetic” and that it won’t affect the long term use of the truck…

Differentials rust over time, but that one is extreme, especially for a new truck on the lot. It looks far worse than the diff on my 2012 F-150. The rear cover in particular looks like it was stored on the ground in a gravel parking lot. The appearance of the differential doesn't match the rest of the truck. It appears that the rust problem may begin just after differential assembly and during shipping and storage prior to installation in the truck. The rear cover on that diff had a rough life before it ever got to the truck.

and I’m sure your one of the ones that tell others that burning a quart of oil per oil change is normal, that trucks have been burning oil for years, and if they are worried about it to just carry an extra quart of oil with them and top it off every 500 miles….

told me a quart every 1000 miles was normal. And even the Toyota I just traded in on my F150 the oill level would go down and I even sometimes would add a little between the 10,000 mile oil changes. And as far as clear coat and all that other stuff I could care less mine is not a “show truck” it’s a money maker it’s going to get scratches and dings here and there.

Im not even involved in this argument but I’m just gonna say your crazier than hell! There is a big difference between telling someone adding a quart of oil between a 5000-10,000 mile oil change interval is normal and adding a quart every 500 miles. And don’t tell me chevys don’t use oil I had a 09 that GM
