Default Broken Tail Light and Dented Tailgate

Bad day. Towing my boat and it popped off the hitch and crashed into my tailgate. Dented the tailgate and broke the tail lamp. Going to a body shop tomorrow to see about the tailgate but would like to try to source the tail lamp myself. I did not realize there were so many different ones out there for the same year model. Mine are not LED but I do have BLIS and and Co Pilot 360 2.0
I will have to talk to a Ford parts company and give them my VIN number to find out the proper part I need.

This top picture is just to show what my tail light looks like, before damage.

Dents and broken lamp.

Oof, that sucks.

What kind of hitch are you using? Standard ball?
If you're willing to do some slight modification to the trailer, you can retrofit to a better retaining and more foolhardy hitch.

Even the addition of a weight-distributing hitch can increase the retention of the trailer.

It's a BW ball hitch with three *****. My error, I used too small of a ball so it ended up popping off. Scared the hell out of me. Going 40 mph on a bridge. Luckily the safety cables kept it from getting away.
