And my hopes of the F200 being a hybrid version of the F250 have now been dashed into the ground. Lol.

I would like to see how this works in real life. I would think a thicker leaf spring would be cheaper and more reliable. I almost though this was a joke when I saw this article.

I agree, this seems like a joke. If you need a booster axle, what are you doing with a half ton?

I seem like it would be hard to get the braking system for this added wheel to work. I still think it's a joke and the Ford Engineers are laughing reading all the comments.

Sounds like something developed for a specific industry or task (like mining, rail, or maybe airports or something).

Looks like as you load the front axle, weight is transferred to back one via those arms.

Given it would need different bodywork at least, this would probably be for certain commercial applications.
