Stupid question -
Does the 2021 F150 BLIS have a warning chime or noise to let you know someone is in the lane when you have your signal light on? I know my other vehicles with BLIS have chimed when there is someone in the blind spot with signal light is on. I have not noticed any chime or noise on my 2021 F150 and I have gone into my settings to have normal sound for warnings, but I still haven't heard a chime for BLIS, is this a Ford thing that there is no warning chime?

 

That is correct. It's not a bug, it's a feature. One that could be easily fixed with a software update if Ford cared to do so.

 

There is no warning chime, but the BLIS light on the mirror will blink if your turn signal is on, and there is a car there.

 

Does anyone know if Ford has made a chime available? My wife's 2019 CRV chimes when the turn signal has been activated and another vehicle is in the blind spot. I've become accustomed to this feature and would like to have it available in my 2021 F150.

 

We have plenty of dings already. Glad to rely on silence for this one. My 16 CRV had no dings with BLIS.

especially love Ford's ability to stretch the area the BLIS warning activates on to accommodate a trailer.

 

BLIS was developed by Volvo and adopted by Ford. My wife's BLIS-enabled Volvo does not chime. It will glow when a vehicle is in your blind spot, and flash if you turn on your signal to maneuver while a vehicle is in your blind spot.

 

Unfortunately no. My wife and I took a road trip in her Mazda this weekend and I really like the "ding".
It ONLY DINGS when you put your BLINKER ON and there is a car in the blind spot on THAT SIDE. The ding volume can be adjusted or turned off in user settings. Perfect.
This should be a simple software addition for Ford.

 

There is a couple of scenarios here

a) if backing out of a parking spot it will chime/beep when cross traffic is detected
b) if just driving down the highway the mirrors have a built-in amber light that will flash when someone approaches/ occupies your blind spot area.
