Default Bed Utility Package

Hi Everyone I’ve been a member here for some time but am about to order a new F150. I’m looking to order an XL and there isn’t much info on the bed utility package on the build and price but it mentions a power tailgate. Does this actually get you a power up/down tailgate on an XL? Seems unlikely as the package is under $700. Any info? Thanks!

Bed Utility Package is optional on XL, XLT, Lariat King Ranch®, Platinum and Tremor and now included on King Ranch®, Platinum and Limited.

Thanks but I'm trying to find out what a power tailgate is on an XL. Or is it just an error on the build and price?

If you look in the Order Guide, you will see that the Power Tailgate is only on Lariat+ trims or Tremor 402A. You should never use just the Build and Price to figure out what to order.

I had the same question, really sketchy of Ford to call it a Power tailgate for ALL of the Bed Utility Packages. If there are different elements in the XL and XLTs than for Lariats etc, then call them the "Bed Utility Package" for the XLs and XLTs; then for the Lariats and over call it the "Bed Utility Plus Package". What we're getting is the Remote Release, not Power Tailgate. But I do think getting the step, box lighting, extra tie downs etc for $700 isn't too bad.

Your not to bad $700.00

On my 21 the Work surface surface with tailgate step was $430.00
Box link / extra tie downs $80.00
Bed lighting included in the XLT 302a package.
Ford does describe the tailgate with power lock.

Box link and bed lighting are no longer available separately from the tailgate step/work surface.

Yeah, I guess I was coming at it from a different perspective. I had many arguments with my salesman regarding what exactly came with the $1,090 Trailer Tow package (53a) that I didnt already have with the Tow Tech package (17t) and the 302a. I eventually learned from Ford and other dealers that the answer is nothing. You actually lose some things ordering that package in 2022.
So when they told me the $470 step was actually part of this $ 690 Bed Utility Package in 2022 that came with a few other things too, I was just happy to be able to easily verify that the package actually included something, lol.

As the post directly before yours demonstrates, it is clearly called out what the Bed Utility Package includes on which trim level.
