Just got a 2025 F150 STX Supercab with 6'7" bed. Has anyone installed a Bed Rug? How did you deal with the "glove boxes" and tie down hooks? Did you make cut outs in the Bed Rug? If so, how did you secure the Bed Rug around the cut outs? Thanks.
I installed one in my 2022 truck and its easy, but it takes a long time to get it right (I dont have a passenger side cubby but have the power outlet on the drivers side, so the process will be similar). I dont know where you're located, but I suggest doing it when its warm and sunny out so it will relax the folds out of it. You'll notice preformed markings on the backside of the bedrug indicating locations of things. I DID NOT use these as they didn't line up exactly. You start my removing all the cleats, boxlink plates if you have them, and the screws for the cubby/power outlet panels. Flop the bedrug in and start massaging it into place. Once in place, you get the velcro strips struck to the bed, then youll be cutting the holes out for the cubby/power outlets panels. Ensure you cut these small so that the carpet tucks BEHIND the flange. I installed the boxlink plates and cleats OVER the bedrug by poking holes for the screws to go through.
There are videos and threads on installing these. I suggest you watch a couple to familiarize yourself with the process. Example:
Again, its a pretty easy process, just take your time with it and it will come out nicely. Aside from the small annoyance of needing to be careful of what you put in the bed, its been one of the favorite additions to my truck.
I installed on my 2019.. Did not have the side cubby. But, I removed the cleats and the two bed lights. Cut a hole for the lights, and put the cleats over the bed rug and installed. If cutting a hole, make sure the blades (i used and x-acto knife) are new and sharp. Cut the hole smaller.. you can always make it bigger. Too big of a hole it looks unprofessional. The cleats and replacing the lights ( lights themselves) held the rug in place.
Thanks for the replies and YouTube; all good info.
I just installed a Bak x4s tonneau cover. Looks like it will be easier to install the bedrug with the tonneau rails removed.
I do plan on waiting for warmer weather to purchase and install the bedrug.
I put one in a few months ago. I removed the cleats and power station. I located the holes for the cleats and re-installed them on top of the bedrug...no cuts. For the power station I did cut out the bedrug. I made a slit in the middle and then cut out enough material so that I could reinstall without any gaps. Also put those screws back in through the cover. Not too bad looks like it came that way. Good idea on waiting for the weather to warm up...that will help the 3m tape to adhere better.
My 2025 came with a factory drop in liner.. Rather a bed rug like I installed in my 2019. But that's cool... I'll probably just put in the bed rug "mat" to keep stuff from sliding around..
I installed a bed rug in my 2015. Like others I reinstalled the cleats and tie downs on top of the rug. The only cutouts I needed were for the bed lights and bed light switch. With these I needed to chamfer the edge of the bed rug slightly so the lights and switch would snap back in tightly.
I have a spray in liner, but I installed a bed rug mat over the liner. The mat is a little easier on the knees when crawling into the bed. One of the things I did differently, I pulled up the bed hold down bolts and installed d-rings. When you make holes in the mat, use a soldering iron. It will make nice clean holes.
