I followed this video, clean install since it’s a factory option and I can turn on the light with the switch in bed anytime.

Prices have gone up a bit for the parts. I did mine in March of 2025 and the prices reflect that. I got all my parts from Fairway Ford. They had the cheapest price on everything and shipping wasn't too bad.
I thought they'd pop out quickly with a trim removal tool, but they put up a fight. They didn't look so great once I got them out. I don't anticipate needing to pull the lights out for any reason, but if I do I'll take the taillights out to do it!

These are the part numbers if anyone needs them (at least everything I needed on a Lariat 502a). Again, at December 2023 prices, so plan on higher now:

Im not prewired for the bed lights, dont have the dummy connector under the bed to plug into.. At this time not wanting to spend $300 for this project, there are other upgrades that i would rather spend on. Also when they linex'ed they prayed over the rubber light covers, not sure how easy they would be to get off. A set from amazon for $20 sounds better to me at this point. Thanks for all the suggestions

Is there a jumper wire for the switch as well? I see the factory connectors down on the bed , the switch wire I would need as well. Thanks!

The jumper wire for the switch is part of one of the two harnesses. One harness is set up to connect to the light and the connector on the frame (passenger side) and the other harness has the connector for the light, a pigtail for the switch and the connector on the frame on the drivers side. If you don't have the connector, depending on the setup on your truck, you can replace the harness under the back end of the truck in about 30 minutes or so. That was the biggest expense on my addition was the harness. It was about $160 for that harness alone.
