So I got my 21 with the 2.0 Pro Power and now realized that the vertical grooves in the bed are non existent on the drivers side.
I had, and used all the time, I board that I had cut to fit across to hold my everyday tools.
I'm now looking for something else to put there and a friend reminded me of the bed extender

that he had in a previous truck.
So I went to look for it on line and it comes up as not fitting on the 21
Any one have something that works besides locking pole?

 

I transferred my Bed Extender from my 2019 to my 2021, no problem.

Are the grooves in the front half gone too? I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be affected but I'd be rather frustrated to lose those too.

 

Brought the bed extender over from the 18 Lariat 6.5 foot bed and it works perfectly. The only item that’s different is with the work surface, there is no hole to lock the rod into. There is a dimple on the work surface where the hole used to be and it’s any easy drill out if you need the rod to lock into the tailgate.

my 21 supercab with 400 watt did not have the board groove. I still have my 2x10 treated board from my 13 and was looking forward to using it again. It worked great for groceries. dont know why theyd do away with it

 

I have the builtright industries side panels, got some brackets online and have a 2x10 going across just in front of the wheel well. Got the bracket idea from someone else on here.. don't have full pics yet, but here is a pic of the panel and bracket....

 

Here’s the two by I used to keep in my bed. Worked really slick for me.

 

By the way, now that I've taken delivery of my car I can confirm that the 8' bed still has front and rear 2x8 slots.

I suspect that the 6.5' bed might not have the front slots, but I have no way to verify.

but no there are no driver side ridges, really hate that. what was Ford thinking??

one i already traded in my 2016 with 297 k miles, i realized that the lock in tie downs were also no included. (had I paid attention, i would have taken them off my old truck.
