Default back up assist

does anyone use the back up assist? recently I purchased a trailer and a new boat - so thinking of setting it up. if you are using it - was it hard to set up? does it work like they say it does?

any information is appreciated

I set my boat up just to see how it works, and never used it since. it limits the angle between the truck and trailer, so you'll have to drive fairly far from the boat ramp and start aiming early. or I'm just not used to this. for the frequency I tow, I better know how to back up a trailer without aids. lol
it's very easy to set up if you are using the sticker, no longer need to measure distances and manually input, just collaborate by driving following instructions and the system is smart enough to figure out by itself.

I have it. Easy to set up. Hate using it. Mush easier and more accurate to just look over my shoulder.

Interesting to read that it hates sharp angles. That’s not great news for me.
I’ve given up on renting u haul auto transports as they’re availability is disappearing.
picking up a 16 ft trailer which is about four feet longer. Backing into my driveway from the single lane road requires a near 90 degree “blindside” turn.

I’m not the greatest at backing up without the back up assist. It was easy to set up using the sensor and cable. It’s true that it doesn’t like sharp turns but I thoroughly like using it.

I run an RV Resort and without exception everyone that uses it shouldn’t! I have it on my ‘22 and have never set it up.

Came on my '17 and '20. Never used it and don't know anyone that has.

I set it up with my 22' RV earlier this year. Every time I've tried to use it, it disconnects and says it's not available. Probably because backing into my driveway or most camping sites requires sharper angles than the system can handle. I've stopped trying to use it and just worked on getting better at backing up on my own.

Pretty easy to set up, especially the system without the little checkerboard cards...my wife likes it when she uses my truck to tow her RV. I personally find it easier and more intuitive to look over my shoulder. NEVER got the 'look in the mirror' thing down, lol!
